I have arrived at the conclusion that everyone is insane, and that the would would be a better place if we just assumed that of each other, and treated everyone with the gentleness we would treat people who could not help themselves. Now, this is not to say that assholes get a free pass. They should just be as understanding that you could not help keying their big honking SUV as you are understanding that they must park in such a way as to make it impossible for you to get out of the driver side of your own car.

*nods*

Well I'm on the way back to Florida today. I'm happy. I get to see my own cats, and not feel like I'm drowing in Beanie Babies. Brian will be here soon, and he's bringing Rachelle with him. The plan is to stop overnight in Tifton, or somewhere close to the border. I hope we make it in time to watch Metropolis tonight on SciFi.

I went out in the back yard to catch afew pictures of Mom's flowers. It's very green back there, threatening to overgrow, actually. I caught sight of a cute little interloper. There is a boy-mew running around back there. He looks like a rangy teen cat, and was enjoying making a game of dancing around in front of me, flopping to show belly, and teasingly not coming close enough to pet. I think he would have finally come over. He was certainly flirting enough. But I was being assaulted...besieged, even...by waves of hungry mosquitoes.

WESTNILEEEEEGONNADIEEEE!

I'm going to tell Mom about her new cat. She may scoop him up and get him "fixed", then have herself an outdoor fella.

Horay!

I finally got a chance to drink some coffee and visit with [livejournal.com profile] watcher1. I was begining to wonder if people didn't love me any more. It was plenty of fun. We gossiped and remembered old times> We're getting old that way. He told me about his hundreds of children. (All scorpions) and I reported on my two (hermit crabs). I told him about [livejournal.com profile] buzzysleepy's crab who got out of his tank only to be caught at the sliding glass door. The quote was, "Damnit...they have bigger tanks..". I feel better. Less lonely.

I suppose the past two weeks haven't been that terrible. I didn't get to see the people I wanted to see, but I got to go to the Ren Fest, and see Hitch Hikers Guide. I did everything I was supposed to do in the office, finishing the painting (finally!), and moving bookshelves in. I got to reconnect with my best friend from 5th grade to highschool, and beyond. And it wasn't awkward!

I'll still be really happy to be home. Brian is coming on Saturday, and we'll be heading out. The plan is to get a room somewhere near Tifton. I have told Brian that he'd have to knock me out to keep me off a bed. I am so sick of this couch. Couch=evil.

The Sloganizer. Visit it.

Not much to report for the past few days. I've got to stay away from the hotsauce for awhile. Bad tummy, yuk. Mom and I went out for dinner a couple of days. Kinda hard sometimes looking for subjects that aren't pretty gay men in fur bikinis, or such.

My Mom just called. She is at work at the hospital where she works as a nurse. They apperently have the internet there. She called to ask me to go get a book related to her Harmony Kingdom collection. For those who don't know, Harmony Kingdom are little statues, and boxes that are carved by artists, then copied in limited edition runs.

title or description

She wanted me to look up a spacific piece, and tell her the value. It's a crab that is worth 35 dollars generally, but has an alternate run with a hand inside the box that is worth 400 dollars. I told her, and she chortled.

"That's just what I wanted to know!" she said in a thrilled voice. I already know what she is doing. "I'm at work and you can't stop me!"

Oh my God, Mom. hehehe! Like I would seriously try to stop you?

Dear Assfaces who keep calling my Mom's and not leaving a message...

We do not answer the phone, ok? Not here. Mom hasn't decided to get caller ID, so she screens calls on the answering machine. If you want a response, leave a message! If you predict we'd hang up, DON'T CALL! Argh!

If you are a friend that's been calling, and just thinks we're not home, ignore the assfaces thing. But leave a message. I seriously might pick up.

So, I'm in LaGrange again. I made it. There was much rejoicing. Yay. I should be here for two weeks, instead of one, so those of you Georgia folk who wanted to come kidnap me, you have a larger window of time.

The drive up was pleasant. The new truck, which I have dubbed Moe, runs like a dream. Nice, smooth ride.

I have a date with my Mom to see Hitch Hikers Guide. This makes me happy. She's the one who introduced me to Hitch Hikers Guide. I can't think of a better date.

If I am *really* lucky, I'll get to go to the Ren Fest with someone. Hopefully Mom. She has money. ;) Anyone else out there who wants to take me is fine too, but be warned. I can probably get some cash from Mom, but I'm basicly broke. I am, however, a cheap date.

I watched Alien 3 the other day, and now I'm like completely stuck in a Sci Fi Prison mode for role play. I hope I can talk someone into it soon. Mew?

But, I could be a Jewish Redhead.

Well LaGrange is still blah. We went to Home Depot, and out to dinner, then the Mall. I was looking for the latest Werewolf role playing book. The weirdest thing happens. This dude comes over to start hitting on me. He doesn't ask my name, just comes over and starts talking. He asks where I'm from, and how long I'll be here. He's making me uncomfortable. He asks if I get wild, and I reply, "No. I'm married." He says, "Cool. I am too." and shows me his ring. Geeze. But apperently the thought a husband might suddenly show up worked. He wandered away.

Wow...Made it to Christmas. I should probably post.

Of course, as the topic says above, Felix Saturnalia. I hope that everyone on my friends list, and those who are near and dear to me are doing well. As far as I am concerned, it's been good. :)

It began a couple of days ago. I got to go see Phantom of the Opera with [livejournal.com profile] vernard and [livejournal.com profile] zorathenne. *Much wiggles!* Of course I adored the company. The movie was lush, and awsome. I have to confess that I've been unable to see a big production of the Phantom for Broadway. It's amazing that I have not. But I have had, and loved the soundtrack for a long time. If you simply *have* to have Micheal Crawford and Sarah Brightman, you may not like this movie. But it really is, IMHO, a great way to bring Phantom to people, like me, who can't shell out 70 bucks to see a musical. Were there things I missed, or would change? Of course..But I think I shall not poison the well of potetial veiwers with such, since even with flaws I was completely happy and charmed.

I spent the night at Vernard's house, who is a gracious master host as always, and the next day was able to do something I haven't done in a long time. I saw my old, dearest, soulmate of a best friend, Scott. I haven't seen this man in several years. Too many really. It was nice. Some people when they are once close, then they drift apart, then they meet again, it's awkward..Not us. We saw each other and just lit up. I'm sure Vernard could attest to that. He took Vernard and I to lunch, and I got to meet his new (to me) family. His beautiful, perfect, gorgious wife, Yuan, and his baby son Collin. Yuan was quiet most of the time, but honestly I was too, as V and Scott got involved talking geek stuff. Eh, who could stop them? Collin was a dream. He's 18 months old, half Korean, half white with some cherokee. He was *golden*. You know how alot of people tan brown? Well this kid was toasty gold. He was also a very happy child, with only minor bits of fussing. Scott was so amusing dealing with Collin. That is Daddy's boy. Scott would pick Collin up, put him on one hip, stand with his feet apart jauntily, and have his hand on his other hip. He just looked like a poster for, "Look what I made!" The time passed all too quickly. I had to hug Scott and let him go. *sniffoo*

Ah well. Then we went around for awhile helping Vincent, Vernard's brother shop. For those that don't know, Vincent is blind. It was interesting going around with him. He's a sharp man, who speaks well on alot of topics. It was kinda fun watching sales clerks have to wake up from stupers and find new ways to explain features to Vincent that ordinarily they would just show.

Came home, and yesterday was reletively uneventful. Today was the big day, and Brian finally came up from Florida for my family dinner. Yay! I, of course, missed him. I just wanted to hug and kiss and squish all over him. But there was always witnesses. We went to Nona's for dinner. It's the big family thing. My Aunt and Uncle, and cousins were there. Cousin Chris brought a date, Cathy, who seems like a nice girl. Cousin David has a wife, Gwen, who's a spicey chick, lemme tell ya. It's really nice. Everyone gets along, and no one gets drunk and stupid. I'm happy to say my family get togethers are drama free.

Racked up decently overall on gifts. I'll list those later.

Tomorrow we head over to see Brian's other bro, and get even *more* food stuffed into us. Should be a good day.

HUGS! FOR ALL! And have a really nice weekend.

It's Sunday afternoon. There are only "World's Blankiest Blank" shows on TV. The squirrels outside the windoe at my Mom's feeder are fat as fuck. I should get off my butt and walk to Walmart for milk, and hotwings, but I can't be arsed. What happened to my energy? Blah.

The photo shoot yesterday turned out to be not nearly so worrisome. It was lame actually. We had two people make appointments, and one person walked in befor we took down the set. The hotel room we used was tiny. We still did the best we could. The hardest animal was the half german shepard, half mastiff. He was a big boy, and he didn't want to pose. We still managed. The cutest one was a little yap dog with big ears. Maybe a long haired chihuahua. He was a happy model, and when offered a cracker and the word "squirrels" was mentioned, his big ears perked up, and he got still. Amazing.

I'm still just so pleased to be in LaGrange.

So..here I am, back in LaStrange. I've come up to basicly have time to help my Mom in a project concerning taking Santa Claus pictures for the Humane Society. That will be happening this Saturday. So far I'm bored as all fuck, and I miss my hubby. I have to share the computer with my mother, and her chair is, I believe, slightly off kilter so my lower back and hips hurt. Good luck talking her into buying another one. This is one of those moments when I very much wish I was rich. I'd buy her a new chair, and a new microwave. I think the one she has now is working on it's stint as a fire hazard. I may buy her a microwave for Christmas, depending on my budget.

It's boring here. I wish I had a "local" bf, even if just for afew days. I would treat him sweet, and listen to his geek stories. Honest! Speaking of such things, I have a profile on OKcupid.com (banchae for anyone interested) and I got my first "Woo!" A woo is sort of a form message saying another person with an account thinks you are interesting. Hehe..woo! Brian hates them, but I never got wooed befor. Heck I barely check the thing lately. Anyway, this person lives in Orlando and has an interesting profile. I've gotten back to answering all the survey type questions ment to help one come up a mathmatical compatibility profile. Man..You have to answer alot of questions. Some of them are pretty dumb. They are submitted by members as well as the staff. I await to see if my wooer answers my email back to him, asking for more info. He's cute from his pics. Has Native American in him.

It was fun to do, and I began to feel like a photographer again, though most of the pics were not the very best. A couple were quite interesting. My fingernails are still blue. LOL.

I really am looking forward to going back to LaGrange, this time loaded for bear. And not just the homobears at Best buy either. Actually, those guys probably wouldn't be targets at all. Anyway, I'm finally old enough to *enjoy* scaring small minded people. And you know what? What's going to happen? I'll get there and people will love it. They will. Just my luck. I predict my grandmother will squeek. hehe. I'm giving the gift of conversation for Christmas! I'll challenge her to prove to me that none, not one, of her friends currently has blue hair.

Ugh. I think I look too chubby. Ah well. Enjoy the pics!

This is my last week at Hot Topic. Not because I am disliking it. I'm just going to spend the month at my mother's again. Back to the world of hicks and dialup. I have my spiffy *new* camera now though, and I can show more of this world. *muahhahaha* *cough*. Yeah. I actually will miss HT, and may return, but I do need to go do this job for my Mom. It's something to put on a resume. What is it? Why, I'm going to go take Santa Pictures with pets for the Humane Society in LaGrange.

Local Folks! This means if we want to have some sort of Christmas get together befor Christmas, it'll have to be this week. Any suggestions?

PS: Behold the Cherry Poptart, for she is teh nifty!

That about sums it up for me. Brian and Rachelle came up for the weekend. We hung out in a hotel room to give Mom her space. We went to visit Julius, my brother in law. He's doing ok, though he has a crack ho for a room mate. She's a cousin. I really enjoyed seeing Brian, who I had missed terribly since the storm, and seeing Rachelle again. It was decided for a variety of factors that I should stay up here. First, just easier if Ivan decides to be unpredictable as the last two were. Second, we have no hot water, and the landlord has to do alot of stuff to the apt to get it back in good shape. Did I mention there was water damage? Third, Mom wants me to help with her home improvement projects. I don't mind, and hey, she's paid more than my Hot Topic job has in a month. She's also talked about giving me more if needed, and helping me to set up a pet shoot for Christmas in November, so I suppose if worse comes to worst in my job thing, I'll still have money.

I still miss Brian though. And I still can't quite shake this feeling at the bottom of my tummy, like dread. I guess I'm just too used to the rug being yanked out.

Woo...Long day. I certainly enjoyed my week, but I am glad to be home. My cats mugged all over me, and my little grey princess Bink "talked" to me for about 30 minutes. The trip it's self was uneventful. Befor we left good, we had to stop and pick up my little niece, Jesse to take her over to my bro-in-law's house for visitation. She didn't remember us, and was hesitant at first, but we coaxed her. She was tired too. Such a pretty little girl. She was happy to see her daddy. Well..i thought I would have more to post, but my brain is tired. More later, I suppose.
teague: (Default)
Ugh..Sleepy. I made myself get up at a reasonable hour today, in spite of my not getting to sleep until 9 am or so. So trying not to nap and create a situation where that is where I want to sleep.

My Mom laid a heavy trip on me yesterday too. I just wasn't sure how to announce it yet. Basicly she had this sudden "mole" crop up, and it was nasty looking. She went to the doctor today. We were really worried it could be cancer, cause it even had bruising around it. She comes in today and asks do I want the good, or the bad news. I'm like.."Ok, gimme the bad.." She looks me dead in the eyes and says, "The tick is dead..." HOLY CRAP! It wasn't a mole..it was a nasty, swollen, ooki tick! She hadn't been able to tell because it was on her back. And she probably killed it because it was right under her braline.

Tonight Mom is going to help with that scary room. This will be good. She can make some choices. And we will look like dust bunnies together.

My day

Jun. 16th, 2004 04:42 am

Well, for the most part today was a good day. I did have a weird start. The nearly 80 yr old next door neighbor came knocking cause he needed someone to call his wife. He'd locked himself out of the house. I called, and she's hard of hearing..so I had to yell at her into the phone. But she agreed to come home. Then I kept an eye on him as he made his way down the front steps carefully, complaining about his bad hip. *shudder* If there was any better reason to step up my exersize, and include weight training, it's that. I do not want to loose so much bone mass that I fall and break a hip. He made it though.

Later I was treated to a restaraunt called Springhouse. This is like one of the swankiest restaraunts in LaGrange. I went with Pete(David), Paul, and Kevin, who's just gotten back from Iraq. I had to request that they refrain from the shooting, and killing stories until I had finished eating. I mean, maybe they can all take it, but I don't think I would have enjoyed my steak nearly so much thinking of burning Iraqies. I wasn't even for the war for the reasons given. And Kevin's overall disdane for the populace, which seemed to include the folks he was there to help, was abit disturbing. They were nice enough to refrain, and so we ended up talking about sex, and bashing some poor guy who's the Salacious Crumb slave to some big lesbian. That I can handle. The food was fucking awsome. I had a steak, with parmasian cheese, and some sort of brown gravy sauce, garlic mashed potatos, and a tomato with parasian cheese as an appetizer. I brought the other half of that back to my Mom. The streak was almost as soft as butter, and just melted in my mouth. I wasn't even sure I could handle it. Haven't been eating alot of beef lately. Abusing alot of chickens. And Pete was nice enough to pay for everyone. Thank you, Pete. Brian is very jealous, and I can't go again until he gets to go.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I also got a visit from Chip, and his wife Ruth. They seem to be doing well. Gotten bigger, but pretty much who does still look the same as when they were 20? We chatted and remeniced, and it was good. I also got to give Chip some things he'd stored in the attic lo many moons ago.

Tomorrow I begin attacking the house abit, earning my money. Still would be open to coffee, or whatnot as a break. I'll prolly look like a dustbunny.

Considering I usually come up as what ever is most evil, this should either be a complete surprise, or no surprise.

Well I've had my first day in LaGrange. Today was pretty mundane. Spent alot of it sleeping fitfully, trying to catch up on missed sleep from yesterday, and getting harrassed by my Mom's asshat felines. I'm achy. Paul called and let me know he and Kev were going out to a pagan thing. It sounded interesting, and I probably could have invited myself along, but I was tired. Woke with a headache. Maybe now that I don't have to sleep on a folded out couch, I can sleep better.
