Holy Crap

Well...this little scene happened right behind my house. I surrepticiously took pics, because I am a photographer. I heard shouting and this was what was going on. This big dude was apperently being quite a handful. Part of me just watched the little drama unfold, not knowing what lead up to it. Part of me kept an eye on the police. There were so many. I was raised in a bad neighborhood. I generally am glad for police and the job they do, but I'm not naive. If they commenced to Rodney Kinging this guy, I'd be quietly gathering evidence. If you can see the red splot on the guy's arm, that's the laser site of a taser, which the female officer to the far left is holding. But as it turned out, the guy was talked into quietly going into the paddy wagon. I'm not sure if he was on drugs or what, but he saw reason. Colorful neighborhood.

Well the crap with the leak in the closet is finally going to be fixed. I discovered that it was still leaking, and let my landlord Sam know. He's a pretty good dude, thank god. I hadn't put anything else in there, so I didn't lose anything else. He went up and fucked around, and finally uncovered the whole in the drain pipe. Upstairs neighbor had apperently used draino on a particularly hard clog, and rather than draining it, it sat there, and ate a hole in the pvc. (Warning consumers!) So tomorrow the hole will be fixed, and within afew days the closet will be open for business.

Bleah, I still need a job. If possible, going to pass out some applications tomorrow.

Well we got the plumber in today, and guess what. Since the water wasn't dripping, due to the sink up stairs not being used...HE COULDN'T FIX A DAMNED THING. "That leak could be 10 feet in some other direction. Guess you can't use your closet for awhile. ha hah" (Things may have been edited by my brain for content.) But yeah, basicly there was nothing he could do. So I can't use my closet for at least a week to see if it leaks again, and if not, I get to play russian roulette with my cloths again, because I have no where else to put them. I...fucking...sigh.

Well...Life sucks sometimes. Basicly the apartment overhead sprung a leak in the pipe that drains the kitchen sink. The pipe that runs directly over my closet. So...Basicly now I have a closet full of soggy, now moldering cloths that I will have to wash, and get cleaned. That sucks. But what *really sucks* is that also in the closet was most of my comic collection. I lost roughly 100 comics. A box full. Now, I'm 32 years old. I can handle such things. It just sucks. It's like going through a mini natural disaster. You lose some items you've had for most of your life. Completely...totally lose these things that you attach memories to. That you've carted from house to house, lovingly. They have value only to you. The comics I lost really had no value, except maybe a couple of my Marvel Comics that had cost 25 cents when originally sold. Still, they were vampire titles, and not like Superman #1. I also lost two other comic boxes. They were actually boxes my mother scored for me that blood is transfered around in. They were clean, and unused, and lined to act as coolers. So some of the comics that were in there were safe, but the boxes were distroyed. Now I need more comic boxes, and I don't actually have the extra money to buy some. This is going to sound silly, but if anyone feels kind enough to donate some bucks to the cause, my paypal account is listed under shadowteague@yahoo.com. I can maybe buy a couple of boxes online. I know they're cheap. And I'm thinking of having a funeral for my poor, lost comics. Seems like a thing to do.

Pics of the damage can be veiwed at http://homepage.mac.com/shadowteague/PhotoAlbum18.html
