Whitefuscate: The supernatural power to blend in and look like other white people.

Whitenebration: The ability to physically change one's form to look like other white people. (Usually involves hair bleach, silicon, and botox)

Whitenebreous Form: Overweight white women with wings hanging from their triceps and skinfolds on their inner knees. Truely frightening. Especially in Walmart, if seen wearing Mumus, or stretch shorts, and riding a scoot about. *shiver*

Said to my husband, by myself, over a porkchop biscuit from Hardee's:

"This might be the fried meat talking, but you are a sexy, sexy man."

His response:

"You scare me sometimes."

Trekkies

I saw something I thought was frankly awsome, watching the documentary Trekkies 2. For those of you that haven't seen it, Trekkies 2 is the sequal to the first, obviously, and it showcases Star Trek fans around the world, not just the US. Though it drags in spots, it actually is a pretty funny and cute documentary. The thing that facinated me is there was an Italian Trek fan who was a Catholic Priest, and he incorporated his white collar seamlessly into the Next Generation uniform. In fact, as an added touch, he had his little gold rank buttons resting proudly on the black collar that covers the white. I was vastly amused. He even did his masses at Italian Trek conventions.

Frankly it was giving me story ideas, and it made me ponder afew points. One, Roddenberry seemed very hesitant to include religion in the show, and probably for good reason, but honestly, would these enlightened folk of the future be atheist? Seems unlikely. So that being thought of, how would various churches deal with the undeniable proof that there is intelligent life on other planets? How about the Catholic Church in particular?

And as a less debatable question, this one aimed at [livejournal.com profile] libidoergosum or anyone else who is, or has been in the military. How flexible religiously are military chaplains? This basicly goes towards the idea of how would a chaplain on a starship fill the role. I suppose a better person to answer might be a Navy person, but I don't know if I have any ex Navy on my list.
