The more I learn about Twilight, and the Twihard fans, the more I would kinda rather my girls take up a nice healthy smoking habit than read them. I'm not serious about that, of course, but really... She has Edward's baby after they get married? The baby tries to rip it's way out of her uterus alien style, and there are Twihards who wish they could have a baby like that. ... . . . . *FACEPALM* Listen chicks, childbirth will be plenty painful I assure you. You will probably poop on your OBGYN nurse. There will be nothing romantic about it until the squirming mass of sticky and wiggle is placed on your chest. And I'm not sure if that is romance as much as it is a triumphant shaking of the fist at death.

I also learned that the werewolves can instantly imprint on their mate, even if that mate is a baby. That means some of the werewolves are raising their one day wives. Apparently the loophole is that the wolves will stop aging til the mate hits puberty. Now.. there is something interesting about this idea except you have to remember that these books were supposed to be written as "family friendly." That means pretty much that this female, who's been raised by this male and his family, will have no choice in the matter. Her father figure is going to be her husband. You can tell a Mormon wrote this, can't you?

Frankly the whole concept of family friendly vampires is anathema to me anyway. Vampires are supposed to be monsters! Whether you have your sleek, sexy Lestats, or your Mexican stripper face eaters, you have a monster. You take away the parts that are truely dark, like the fiendish hunger, and you've neutered the concept.

A creature who sparkles in the sunlight, has magical powers, is practically immortal, and can make babies isn't really a vampire. It's a bloodthirsty fairy. No, that's not a gay crack. I mean they are fairies, like from fairy tales.
