teagueFound out that the Phelps clan was in town, doing their usual jackassery. I'm sad because I did not know they were here, and if I had known, I'd have surely found a way to show up, and help turn that into a circus they wouldn't have liked. (Daytona can make some mighty amusing circuses.) I mean...Wouldn't that be an awesome counter protest? Protesting the Phelps stupidity with bare boobies?
I can happily claim that for that, my Mom would have handed over the bail money. Bwahahaa! Wouldn't that have been a fun call from the jail too? "Yeah, Mom? I need bail money. No, I'm fine. I just counter protested those assholes that protest soldiers funerals by going topless. Yep, just like when you were young."
I will say that I was amused and pleased by this quote: Richard Ellwanger said he was flattered that they were protesting First Baptist. "I think it's terrific," Ellwanger said. "They're protesting what God is all about. God loves everybody. It must mean our church is doing something right."
What kills me is the fact these fanatics took time from a *vacation* to squeeze this in. Fucking jerks.
