Eulogy for Mr. Stubbs
Jun. 2nd, 2008 01:55 amBetween 11:00 pm, and 1:00 am tonight, Mr. Stubbs passed on. He was a good fish, and seemed unphased by his infirmity of lacking fins. I admired the little guy for that. I found it amusing that he seemed to grow to recognize me quickly, and would do this crazy little swim when he was hungry and would see me. He'd almost come out of the water, and would sometimes end up up side down. He'd be so excited he'd swallow and burp air bubbles. I always felt Mr. Stubbs was on borrowed time. Indeed I was the one who offered to take him in when the other person who offered really just offered to do the flushing honors. We never really knew how long he'd live. We were surprised when it turned out to be months. He was a good fish, and I'll actually miss him.
