Friend's List Milestone

Well, it's finally happened. It's a sad milestone. I have many computer friends, people who I have never met, and perhaps never will. People who's lives I touch only faintly, in the flicker glow of electronic lights. I've read about breakups, and makeups. New children, and new jobs. Moving, and testing wings. Marrages begun and ended. But now, finally, someone on my friends list has died.

His name was Joel Davies, but he went by the nickname Quack07 on OK Cupid. He was from Wales, and he was almost a male twin of myself. Seriously. He looked almost just like every male on my Dad's side of the family.

He was looking forward to going to the Glastonbury Festival, one of the largest music festivals in the UK. He was a flirt, but not sleezy. I enjoyed talking to him. We hoped to meet in person.

His brother sent e-mails to everyone on his friends list. That was a great kindness. If he hadn't, I might've never known what happened to Joel. They don't know what happened yet, but apperently he passed on in his sleep, and was found in his bed. Ultimately it doesn't matter why he passed on. I'm just sorry he didn't make it to Glastonbury.
